Cultural values

Synergy Alliance has been designed to provide a ‘walking shoulder-to-shoulder’ style of relationship with other like-minded ministers and ministries from the UK and across the world. It is non-governing in its set up, with a clear agenda to provide authentic, healthy and accountable relationships for those desiring them.

Synergy Alliance seeks to provide support and resource to its members but does not take any governmental leadership in the autonomous ministries that align themselves to it. More apostolic or governmental leadership is available through Synergy Christian Churches (contact us for further details), but this Alliance purposes to walk alongside the minister or ministry in more of a resourcing and supportive capacity. There is so much to be gained from being in the Alliance, but we leave it to the individual to determine what level of engagement they want.

We desire to build on three specific common objectives:

  • Relationship

  • Resource

  • Reformation

Synergy Alliance hopes to be a key alignment for your ministry – especially for you, the minister. It is exactly what it says on the tin: an alliance relationship. A relational experience that is not seeking to establish its unity, or find common purpose, on things like Church style or method; rather on a common desire to build healthy relationships, grow who we are and what we lead, and have an effective input in this world for Jesus and His kingdom. So, by design, Synergy Alliance is not built around one individual style, or way, of doing Church but is a synergetic mixture of many different expressions of the Church, all being Christ-centred in what they desire to do.

Ownership

Synergy Alliance does not seek to be ‘just another’ network or relational club in the lives of ministers that want to be a part of everything, but are committed to nothing! Rather, it has a healthy expectancy concerning a level of committed ownership from those desiring to be in it. For example, we have a realistic expectancy that those who are part of the Alliance attend events and conferences that are put on for them to the best of their ability. We are conscious that life is busy, and people can’t attend everything, but we want to be honest and upfront that we do have a healthy expectation that those in Synergy Alliance will have a desire and make the effort to be a part of events that are put on to include and benefit them. If you are looking for just another thing to belong to yet have no intention, or desire, to take ownership concerning its events, then Synergy Alliance is probably not for you.

Synergy Alliance seeks to be a resourcing relationship in both the life of the leader and the ministries they lead, but believes in an ‘Elijah and Elisha’ dynamic. By this we mean that we do not see it as our responsibility to ‘chase’ people in order to resource or support them. Rather, we will willingly be there for people as they seek, or need, help and support. Historically, we have experienced that people misunderstand the dynamics of this principle, so we seek again to be up-front regarding our expectations: we seek to be a great blessing in your life and ministry, but that can only happen when you provide the needed connection that will enable us to do so.

Shoulder to shoulder

Synergy Alliance purposely seeks to stay free from any ‘them-and-us’ mentalities or ways of doing things, believing that all in the Alliance – independent of things such as church size or previous ministry success – are called to walk ‘shoulder to shoulder’, each member supporting and learning from each other. You will never see any ‘VIP’ rooms that separate, or rank, individuals and ministries within the Alliance; rather, a heartbeat of walking, building, and celebrating each other. You will never see some ‘disappearing’ into private rooms or exclusive opportunities. By design we seek to make Synergy Alliance a common platform where champions of different size walk ‘shoulder-to-shoulder’, encouraging each other to greater things.

Championing relationships

Synergy Alliance supports, and champions, the development of healthy cross-alliance relationships. We have, however, set certain boundaries in place in order to avoid any ‘obligation-based’ relational dynamics and the awkwardness they can bring. For example, no church leader is expected to invite another Alliance member to minister in their church, unless this is a desire within the leader themselves. No itinerant or travelling ministry within the Alliance is allowed to look for ‘speaking opportunities’ from others within it. We do, though, welcome the development of healthy relationships that naturally occur and develop among Alliance members, and want to provide a healthy cultural environment for this to happen. Let us underline this point once more: no one is expected to have another minister come to their Church just because they are both members in this Alliance.
